Below are details of both our Likoni Cable Express & The Nairobi Cable Transit Projects

LIKONI CABLE EXPRESS (LCE) PROJECT

This will be a complimentary pedestrian crossing for Likoni Channel Pay-as-you-use service estimated to cost the commuters KSh 20 per ride. The Crossing time will be under 3 minutes and the system has the Capacity to handle 11,000 commuters per hour both directions. The project is an unsolicited PPP between Trapos Africa Limited and GOK. Targeted groundbreaking date is January, 2016 and targeted full-operational service date is April, 2017 The Project Sponsor is Trapos Africa Limited, technology provider is Doppelmayr, Austria and Syndicator is CFC Stanbic Bank

NAIROBI CABLE TRANSIT (NCT) PROJECT

This system will compliment the existing modes of mass transit options available. The project is under PPP contracting with Nairobi County Government. The first phase will be Jogoo Road and Kibera Lines (30Km) which will be a pay-as-you-use service estimated at KSh 50 per ride. The capacity is approximately 800,000 commuters per day.The targeted groundbreaking date is April, 2016 and targeted full-operational service date is July, 2017.

Originally founded in 2012 by its Chairman, Dr. Eustace Mwarania, an electrical engineer by training, Trapos Africa Limited was borne out of his desire to address the ever-growing congestion problem evident in Kenya and sub Saharan Africa.
